Jordie Lane
"Born to a comedian and a clown, Nashville-based, Melbourne-born folk artist Jordie Lane, makes a triumphant return with his acclaimed album "Tropical Depression". This new collection of songs and live show wanders near the intersection of Americana and 60s-inspired folk while sticking strong to his Roots storytelling. Packed with humor, wit, and sharp social commentary, "Tropical Depression" tackles a broad range of topics, from facing extreme weather to Lane’s own mental health journey.A seasoned road warrior, Jordie Lane has shared the stage with legendary acts like Billy Bragg, Gotye, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Moody Blues, and Neko Case, among others, and has found his place as one of Australia’s modern-day storytelling greats!"
"Bridging the gap between folk and Americana, Jordie Lane has created a pathbreaking and inspiring sound. Let me tell you there’s no one making music like Jordie Lane right now. The closest thing I’ve heard to this kind of country / Americana music is probably in the Tyler Childers realm. Lane has a lonesome sincerity in his vocal that makes you believe every damn word he sings. We don’t get many artists like this in a generation, let alone on the cutting edge of new music. Lane has that Grammy-worthy Americana depth to his songwriting. It puts me in mind of some great songwriters like Kristofferson or even John Prine."
