Arkansas State Parks Throughout History

Following a record year as more people jumped at the chance to spend time outdoors during the pandemic, Arkansas State Parks is cutting back hours and operations at its visitor centers, museums, restaurants and two marinas in response to a surge in COVID-19 cases. 

In the spring of 2020, five student interns at the David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History began working on a series of short documentaries about the Marshallese community in Northwest Arkansas. Because of the pandemic, they had to alter their plans and produced a podcast instead. All six episodes of the Arkansas Atoll Podcast are available now. 

The holidays may be over, but we still have food on our minds as we head into the archives at the David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History. Randy Dixon takes us back with clips about everything from bread shortages and race to Colonel Sanders and Minute Man burgers.
