At yesterday's weekly coronavirus response briefing, which was conducted virtually, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced he will be limiting his meetings after possible exposure to COVID-19. Though business at the capitol is being conducted with social distancing and mask-wearing when appropriate, Hutchinson said he was in a session late last week with an individual who later tested positive for the virus. The governor has since tested negative. As the state reported another 628 confirmed COVID-19 cases and another 216 probable cases, 14 additional deaths and 24 new hospitalizations, Arkansas Health Secretary Dr. Jose Romero said the daily counts, which have consistently been higher than at any other time during the pandemic, indicate Arkansans are not doing everything possible to slow the spread of the virus.
