The Great Arkansas Debate of 1974

In the fall of 1974, sitting Arkansas U.S. Senator John Fulbright was challenged by sitting Arkansas Governor Dale Bumpers to a live, nationally-televised debate on the Sunday morning before Election Day. Randy Dixon, with the David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History revisits the event with archives from the KATV broadcast.
