Earlier this week, we heard from our reporter Jack Travis about a federal grant Arkansas received to protect native, endangered species. One of those species is the Speckled Pocket Book mussel, a freshwater invertebrate that exists only in the waters of the Little Red River. Jack spoke with Game and Fish Commission malacologist Kendall Moles about the creature, and Moles dropped a tantalizing piece of information about how mussels reproduce.
