Earlier this month, Ozarks at Large's Daniel Caruth attended the Congress for the New Urbanism in Providence, Rhode Island, with dozens of representatives from northwest Arkansas. That's because next year, the Congress of Urban Planners is coming to our region in 2026.

While there, Caruth spoke with two previous organizers of the congress, Jeff Raser and John Yung from Cincinnati. The two explained why a city would want to host the congress, some of the most significant issues they believe urban planners are facing now and the process of putting together a conference of this scale.
