"We believe that this new high profile spot will raise awareness of the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame and will help people understand the significant contributions that have been made by pretty amazing folks."
Former Arkansas first lady Susan Hutchinson was instrumental in founding the Hall of Fame and notes Arkansas is one of only 25 states to have such an honor.
"It's just a great day here in the 21st century that Arkansas has her own Women's Hall of Fame. And thank you for all your support and keep those nominations coming. We want to find out about all the women that have helped to make Arkansas a much better place, and a wholesome place, and a true land of opportunity."
The Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame opened in 2017 and was spearheaded by then Arkansas first lady Susan Hutchinson and current North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick. It had previously been housed at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. The Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame will induct a new class of seven honorees in an event next week at the North Little Rock Event Center. More information online at arwomenshalloffame.com.
