Volunteer firefighter dies after being struck by vehicle while on duty

The Black Rock Volunteer Fire Department says a firefighter that was hit by a vehicle while on duty in Lawrence County this week has died from his injuries.

On December 7, the department on Facebook said that Sedgwick Volunteer Firefighter Chief Wes Adams "has completed his duty on earth and has gone to Heaven."

KAIT reports that Adams was working a multivehicle accident on Monday, December 6 along Highway 63 when he got hit. He was then airlifted to a hospital in Jonesboro in critical condition where he later died.

Arkansas State Police is investigating the accident.
