Of Note for Wednesday, September 29, 2015: Celebrating "Transfigured Night"

Schoenberg’s “Verklärte Nacht” (“Transfigured Night”) was inspired by Richard Dehmel's poem of the same name and originally written for a string sextet. Earlier this year, the Artosphere Festival Orchestra thrilled audiences with a stunning performance of this piece at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Join us in celebrating both versions as we delve into the original sextet version on Wednesday’s Of Note and revisit AFO’s live performance on this week’s Sunday Symphony.
