Music is a language, as JuraMargulis explains regarding his approach to transcribing full orchestral scores to piano.
"If you understand what the composer is saying through the orchestra you may be able to say the same thing through the piano," states Margulis, an internationally performing pianist and music professor for the University of Arkansas.
Margulis, who has a new recording of original piano transcriptions that includes a piano duo performed with Martha Agerich, stops by the KUAF studio to elaborate and discuss his upcoming concert at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall at the University of Arkansas Saturday, May 7, and even plays a little Schumann on our studio Steinway.
