Drivers can locate electric vehicle charging stations throughout the region on mobile apps like PlugShare.

The Fayetteville City Council has approved new regulations for electric vehicle charging stations on private property. The standards require publicly available car chargers to be a level 2 charger, have a minimum 30 amps on a 240-volt circuit and be connected to a network that allows users to find them on a cellphone. The city's environmental director says the regulations will help the city establish LEED accreditation.
