An environmental assessment shows the preferred route in green on this Arkansas Department of Transportation Map.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration have cleared a final hurdle to construct a new northwest-bound limited access road to Northwest Arkansas National Airport in Benton County. The preferred route, which has cleared an environmental assessment, will extend northwest from the Springdale Northern Bypass and Arkansas 112 interchange. Planners are hosting a virtual public forum on March 2 to discuss the project.
