Brent Williams is a professor of supply chain management at the University of Arkansas.

From steel and aluminum to computer chips and even toilet paper - product shortages have brought a lot of attention to supply chains in the last year. A June report from the Institute of Supply Chain Management found that manufacturers are waiting an average of 85 days on needed items, the longest wait time recorded by the institute since 1987. Brent Williams with the Sam M Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas explains how the pandemic has changed supply chains and consumer habits.
