Elizabeth Lyon, who serves as concertmaster for the Fort Smith Symphony, came up with the idea for Storybook Strings after singing her young son lullabies. She took a simple idea -- place storybooks to music -- and made it into a unique performance ensemble that plays frequently in the KUAF listening area. The string quartet plus narrator and vocal percussionist stop in to the Firmin-Garner Performance studio to elaborate on their unique group and play from their repertoire in Friday's Of Note with Katy Henriksen.
