Flemish composer Arthur Meulemans was inspired by his landscape in his "Fir Symphony" with movements named "Moonlit Night - summer haze hangs over the meadows and over the river Demer - four little trees strangely illuminated - horsemen in the night," "The fir trees gently rustling in their mysterious loneliness," "Midnight Dance of gnomes and nymphs," and "The rays of morning light shine on the fir-tress."
