Of Note for Monday, Nov. 16, 2015: Karajan Brings Romance to Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra

Béla Bartók’s concerto for orchestra has been recorded several times by many reputable ensembles, each of which has interpreted the piece in a different way. On Monday’s program, hear the smooth richness brought to the piece by Herbert von Karajan as he leads the Berlin Philharmonic, a version full of romance without the bite of the Hungarian accents that are often emphasized.
