Microsoft says it is set to buy games behemoth Activision Blizzard. According to a press release, the move allows Microsoft, the maker of Xbox, to take up space in the mobile gaming space as well as the oncoming metaverse.

The actor Max Julien, star of the classic 1973 Blaxploitation film The Mack, has died. According to his wife Arabella Chavers Julien, he died early Saturday morning. He was 88. No further details were provided.

Sex and the City actor Chris Noth faces a new accusation of sexual abuse. In a press conference with high-powered lawyer Gloria Allred today, singer Lisa Gentile said she became acquaintances with Noth in 1998, when Gentile became a regular at Da Marino Restaurant in New York City.

Greg Tate, the essential music writer, cultural critic and journalist, has died. He was 64. The news was confirmed by a spokesperson at Duke University Press, his publisher. No further details were provided.

Nearly four decades after identifying the wrong person as the man who raped her in college, author Alice Sebold has apologized and her publishers said they would stop distributing her 1999 memoir in which she wrote about it.

Anthony Broadwater, who spent more than 16 years in prison for the crime and who had constantly maintained his innocence, was exonerated last week.
