The 15-foot tall Confederate obelisk stands on recently purchased empty burial plots in Eureka Springs city cemetery.

A tall white limestone obelisk that honors Confederate veterans buried in Eureka Springs Cemetery was recently installed by a local neo-Confederate advocate without official notice or approval by the city cemetery commission. Three commissioners want the monument removed. Ozarks at Large news director Kyle Kellams discusses the controversy with reporter Jacqueline Froelich who's investigating the situation.
