CAPES began collecting signatures on June 9, after its ballot title was approved by the Arkansas Attorney General.

With new restrictions in place for citizen-initiated ballot measures, the advocacy group Citizens for Arkansas Public Education and Students - or CAPES - is collecting signatures to petition a referendum on the Arkansas LEARNS Act. The group needs nearly 55,000 valid signatures from across the state by July 31 to put the measure in front of voters in November of 2024.
