University of Arkansas Fort Smith is hosting a symposium celebrating the life and legacy of Arkansas author Charles Portis in Fort Smith and Van Buren. Portis is best known for his novel True Grit. Attendees can dive into all of the author's creativity with a moderated discussion with author Jay Jennings and Portis’ brother Jonathan and other elements of the symposium, which begins Nov. 2.
