Community Spotlight: NWA Film Club — Vegas in Space

A conversation with David Hamernick, founder of the NWA Film Club, about an upcoming community event celebrating queer culture through film, drag performances and live music — plus an after-party with sets by local and visiting DJs.

The event kicks off at Backroom Social Club in Springdale on June 7 at 6:30 p.m. with a special mini drag show featuring local performers Jasmania and Umami Origami. Jasmania will also share a brief talk on the history of Vegas in Space — a campy 1991 sci-fi comedy about drag queens — before the film screening. The night wraps up with a film-centric after-party featuring music from Sartorius, Audible Chocolate and Rockelle.
