Weaving Community: Global Stories, Local Connections at NWACC

Weaving Community: Global Stories, Local Connections at NWACC

Join us for Weaving Community: Global Stories, Local Connections, an interactive event hosted by Weaving NWA as part of NWACC’s celebration of International Education Week. Through collaborative art-making and storytelling, we’ll explore how our personal and family histories connect to global cultures, and how these connections enrich our local community here in Northwest Arkansas.

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a collective collage, adding their unique story to a larger artwork that represents our shared experiences and diverse identities. Guided by the Story of Self framework, small group discussions will provide space for sharing and reflecting on cultural traditions, family stories, and moments of personal connection to global cultures. These conversations will help us discover and celebrate the values, challenges, and experiences that shape our sense of belonging, and will highlight the global connections that inform our lives in NWA.

The completed collage will be displayed on campus throughout the week for the community to view. Whether you stay for a few minutes or the entire event, we invite you to help us weave a tapestry of stories that celebrates the vibrant, interconnected community we share. Lunch and refreshments will be provided!
