Of Note for Thursday, October 29, 2015: Haunting Estonian Voices

Estonian composer Arvo Pärt composes haunting choral music using a composition technique he invented called “tintinnabuli.” Pärt often works with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and its conductor, Paul Hillier (who also happens to be Pärt's biographer), for a sound that truly embodies the powerful character of Estonia. On Thursday’s program, hear one such collaboration between these two men, a recording featuring sacred music inspired by Gregorian chant.
