TRUE Northwest Arkansas, an iniative of the Arkansas Community Foundation funded by grants from the Walmart and Walton Family Foundations, is offering support and training to 30 local nonprofits that are champions of diversity, inclusion and equity to help them, and the region, further those goals.
As work continues on Kholoud Sawaf's play, 10,000 Balconies, music for the work is being created by Hadi Eldebek. He spoke with us in advance of this weekend's workshop performances of the play at TheatreSquared.
Free membership is offered to any student enrolled in any school, and perks include a member magazine, discounts to workshops and free admission to lectures and opening receptions. The next opening reception is Sept. 5, and it celebrates the new exhibit "Norma Tomboulian: Life Into Clay."
The University of Arkansas recently welcomed Gerry Snyder as the School of Art's first ever executive director. He will play an instrumental role in cultivating the newly minted School of Art's role at the university and beyond following the $120 million gift from the the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation and $40 million gift from the Windgate Foundation to develop an art and design district.
