Flu cases in Arkansas negatively impact blood donations

A rising number of flu cases in Arkansas is having an impact on blood donations. Joshua Gwin with Our Blood Institute says a public desire to stay safe and healthy can have an immediate effect on blood supply.

While the challenge is real, there is a rather simple way to offset low blood supply. Gwin says appointments can be made at OBI's website and there are OBI donor centers in Fort Smith and Russellville.
