Microplastics pose an emerging threat to freshwater ecosystems

A recent study revealed that microplastics are contaminating freshwater streams, harming both the water and the organisms that inhabit them. Shannon Speir, coauthor of this study and an assistant professor of water quality at the University of Arkansas, spoke with Ozarks at Large's Matthew Moore about the research and what individuals can do to counteract these damaging effects.
