Hispanic Heritage Month

LatinX Theater Project seeks to inform social change through ensemble-produced art designed to uplift and unite underrepresented communities in northwest Arkansas. While the creators work year-round, their performance schedule definitely picks up in autumn. Recently, Martin Garay and Patricia Rodiguez, members of the ensemble, came to the Carver Center for Public Radio.

To commemorate Latine/Hispanic Heritage Month, the University of Arkansas is hosting a juried art exhibition titled "Sanctuary/Santuario." The gallery is on display in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center through Oct. 18.

September 15 through October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the contributions and influence of Latine/x Americans. To honor those based in Northwest Arkansas, the University of Arkansas’ Multicultural Center partnered with the Anne Kittrell Gallery to showcase a portrait gallery celebrating Latine/x university students, staff and community figures.
