Listening Parties are a chance to share great music, from genre deep dives and era explorations to music tied to memories or life experiences. Your host will select standout albums or songs on vinyl and share reflections with the group. It’s a night to connect over music in community.

This event is specially designed for young athletes aged 5 to 15, offering the ultimate early-season adventure perfect for both seasoned competitors and first-time triathletes! Even better, this is the crucial 2nd race of the 6-part Race the Ozarks Youth Triathlon Series! Jumpstart your points collection early and set the pace for the season.

RD holds secular, science-based addiction recovery support groups every Monday. We are LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent led/friendly. Harm reduction approaches welcomed. Sober curious folks are welcomed. Anyone questioning their relationship to substances is welcomed. No student observers, please.

Using principles learned from the Fundamentals, Figure/Head, and Painting classes, we’ll apply our knowledge and skills to Great Master artworks. We’ll learn watercolor basics (wet on wet,wet on dry, color mixing). Each week we’ll look at various artists such as Rubens, Rembrandt, Winslow Homer and more. From each, we’ll cover the human figure, landscapes, and abstracts.

Course Outline

Week 1: Overview/ Review, Wet on Wet, Wet on Dry/Damp, Water Control Brushes, Strokes Pencils, paint, ink

Week 2: Simple Volumes, Visualizing simple masses Value

Week 3: Monochrome, Using Black and Earth-tones, Rubens and Rembrandt

Week 4: Warm and Cools

Week 5: Color, Working with Primaries, Color Mixing, Winslow Homer scenes, Georgia O’ Keefe abstracts, Sargent

Week 6: Long-Form Master Study, Applying our skills to a single study

This event is part of our RØDE House Happy Hour series.

In this class we will explore the medium of watercolor. I’ll go over the standard materials and tools. We’ll learn fundamentals such as Wet-on Wet, Wet-on-Dry, Color Mixing and more. Each week we’ll draw and paint from life exploring various subject matter from the simplest shapes to florals to even past great artists of the medium.

Course Outline

Week 1: Overview Paints, Brushes, Palette setup, Basic Flat Washes

Week 2: Drawing Simple Volumes: Line and shape Value: Scales and Weight

Week 3: Basic Watercolor Techniques Graded Washes, Variegated Wash, Glazing/Layering Brushwork + Paper, Graphic Brushstrokes, Puddling, Wiping

Week 4: Color 1 Color Wheel: Value, Temperature, Intensity, Greys

Week 5: Color 2 Color Mixing, Perception and Illusion

Week 6: Long-Form Study from Life/Reference Applying our skills to a single study: Still-life, your own household object(s), or a GreatMaster copy

Autism Involves Me invites parents and caretakers to gather at the Momentary for coffee and chalk in the courtyards! Grab coffee from Onyx Cafe while the family gets creative with the chalk provided in the courtyards.
