Arts Live Theatre is preparing for FALL! A variety of after-school theatre classes are available for ages 4-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 13-18 years old. Fun-filled class themes include Fairy Tale Wonders, Percy Jackson’s Quest, Pinocchio Escapades, Dinosaur Adventures, Magic School Bus, Hogwarts Hidden Mysteries, Acting Creates Character, and Minions & Monsters! Classes begin the week of August 31st and run for eight weeks!

Join us every Monday from 6–8 pm, beginning October 5, 2026, for informal, non-instructional figure drawing sessions with a live, undraped model.

Open to artists of all skill levels, these relaxed sessions offer an opportunity to draw from life, practice, and connect with other local artists. No experience is necessary. Volunteer artists host each session and will be available to offer feedback or guidance upon request.

Every Monday beginning October 5, 2026
6–8 pm
$15 per session
18+ only

Please bring your preferred drawing materials and a drawing board if you have one. Chairs are plentiful, but easels and drawing boards are limited.

A 6-week class series led by Janira Rios on handbuilding with clay.

In this six-week course, students will be introduced to the foundations of handbuilt ceramics through gentle, accessible explorations of pinch, coil, and slab techniques. Designed with beginners in mind, this class emphasizes curiosity, experimentation, and mindful making in a supportive studio environment where process matters as much as product.

Participants will receive up to 25 pounds of clay, along with access to studio glazes, allowing them to develop and complete a collection of fired works to take home at the end of the course.

Each session will include clear demonstrations, reflective discussions, and generous hands on studio time. Students will be guided through thoughtfully planned exercises that build confidence and foundational skills while also encouraging creative planning, sketching, and personal exploration in clay. Space will be made for individual projects that reflect each student’s interests, ideas, and evolving style.

By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of basic handbuilding methods, material awareness, and finishing techniques, along with a meaningful body of functional and/or sculptural pieces that reflect their creative journey in clay.

Teacher: Janira Rios-Campos

Janira Rios-Campos is a ceramic artist in Northwest Arkansas specializing in functional pieces through handbuilding and wheel throwing. As the Clay Studio Assistant at Mt. Sequoyah, she enhances her skills through study and experiementation. Janira values midful making and the tactile process of working with clay. Janira is also a fluent spanish speaker and can teach bi-lingual lessons if necessary

This 6-week course introduces students to making pottery on the wheel and engages every stage of the ceramic cycle. It begins with throwing wet clay into basic forms like bowls and cups, then moves into trimming and modifying those leather-hard pieces, and finally glazing them. At the end of the course participants will be able to take home their finished, functional, handmade works of art.

Classes meet every Thursday from 6PM-8PM for 6 weeks, starting September 17th and ends October 22nd.

Raine's Bio: Raine Ransom was used to working in 3D spaces long before they started pottery. Initially a 3D artist for video games, Raine loved interacting with any object they could get their hands on to dissect and recreate its appeal. Moving from San Francisco, CA, they decided to pick up working with clay to help their work online but ended up falling in love with the challenge of the craft. They started throwing on the wheel in 2023 and since then they've been diligently honing their skills in order to make beautiful and unique pottery using Wild Clay they personally harvested and processed. Now, they teach ceramics to other students at multiple studios such as the Community Creative Center, Mount Sequoyah, and Imagine Studios. Raine is a current Mount Sequoyah Clay Studio member and has been excited to join the community.

$250 for all 6 classes, including clay and materials!
