NWA Land Trust Farmland Preservation Program Expands Under Major Grant

Susan Koehler is the Farmland Preservation Coordinator at the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust.

The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust was recently awarded a major grant from the Walton Family Foundation to help farmers seeking land and resources to grow fruits and vegetables for local wholesale markets to meet growing demand. The five-year Farmland Preservation Grant will also support existing and new family farms, promote sustainable farming practices, and strengthen local food systems.

 

Jacqueline Froelich is an investigative journalist and has been a news producer for KUAF National Public Radio since 1998.
