KASU, public radio at Arkansas State University, begins its Fall Fundraiser “live” on-air during Morning Edition, October 21. To continue the programming heard at 91.9 FM and kasu.org, KASU needs to raise $50,000.
KASU pays National Public Radio or NPR over $114,000 a year as an affiliate station for shows like Morning Edition, 1-A, Fresh Air, and All Things Considered. Then we also pay American Public Media or APM for shows like Marketplace and Performance Today. Plus, KASU has production costs for original shows like Arkansas Roots and A-State Connections.
KASU wants to keep airing the programs we have, and we would love to add more. It takes our Fall Fundraiser combined with the Spring Fundraiser, support from our underwriters, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to pay for all the programming.
That’s why we will be coming to you “live” until we reach our goal of $50,000. With the help of sustainers and members, we have already raised almost 60% of our goal.
