Community Clinic is opening its eighth school-based health center inside the new Pea Ridge High School. The clinic, which had its soft opening Monday, is providing access to medical services and educational opportunities for students.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise across Northwest Arkansas, the medical community is working to slow the spread of the virus. Part of that effort includes testing, some of which is being provided by Springdale-based Community Clinic. CEO Judd Semingson gives us an update on the organization's testing capabilities.
A team from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is in Northwest Arkansas investigating a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Hispanic community. According to the Arkansas Department of Health, about 21 percent of the state's active cases are Hispanic patients. Community Clinic in Northwest Arkansas reports there’s a 23 percent positivity rate among its Hispanic patients.
Community Health Centers of Arkansas is committed to conducting 2,000 COVID-19 tests a week in an effort to help the governor reach his goal of conducting 60,000 tests during May. Community Clinic is contributing to the effort through increasing awareness and launching mobile testing sites.
