  • The new documentary “COLBERT: All Students Can Learn” is dedicated to recently-retired Fayetteville School District superintendent Dr. John L. Colbert. Last week, the film’s director, Mike Day, came to the Anthony and Susan Hui News Studio to talk with Ozarks at Large's Kyle Kellams about how he turned hours of interviews and footage into the movie while he and his wife welcomed their third child into their home.

He earned the opening slot through a selection process of both deadmau5 and local fans. Last Friday, the morning after he found out he had earned the gig, he came to the Carver Center for Public Radio.
  • The annual Explosion Chinelera is a vibrant, daylong festival that fills northwest Arkansas traditions of Morelos, Mexico. This year's event featured a band that filled Shiloh Square in Springdale with energetic music and dancers in colorful costumes whirling to the beat. Ozarks at Large invited Alma Altimirano, with dance group Chinelos Morelenses, to the Carver Center for Public Radio.
  • Next month’s Funk Festival will be held at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. From 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, bands like Funk Factory and Rodney Block Collective will bring the funk to raise money for Arkansas Support Network. It’s ASN’s inaugural Funk Festival, and Ozarks at Large's Kyle Kellams asked Terri Pegue about the event and the organization.
