The Machine Behind the Art: Inside JR’s Printing Press is one of JR’s most extensive immersive and experiential works to date. After taking portraits in one of three individual photo booths, visitors enter the interior of an oversized, whirring printing press – turning their image into a tangible work of art while offering a glimpse into the creative process of JR. After the experience, visitors leave with their own, one-of-a-kind print.

in Fayetteville and a frequent OLLI presenter,
believes that when older adults are supported
in processing and making sense of their past,
it can lead to greater peace of mind, improved
mood, and better physical health. In short, how
we remember deeply affects how we feel and
function as we grow older.

The moment of arrival—what we carry when we seek sanctuary, transitions, and the crossing into safety. Sandra Spotts, artist. Jay Lane, artist. Familiar images made from various materials and objects, found and recycled, placed in a format of controlled chaos, is at this point in my journey, the medium of choice for the
“Finding Our Way” exhibit at Gotahold Brewing. I see society as satirical subject matter that exists in a surrealistic landscape of twisted perspective that is filled to the fences with social ironies. And yet, I still have to maintain my sense of humor about what has been and what will be with the activities du jour based on fear, war, greed, and hate. With this sense also comes my interpretations, expressed visually based on my
experiences, feelings, and health, from finding my way as an artist. I hope these pieces give you a sense of curiosity that you continue to carry with you while you are finding your way through all of this we humans call life."

What to Expect:

Paint with Purpose: You’ll have the opportunity to paint one of the bright faces of our adoptable animals looking for a home! Any artist level is encouraged to come and paint a portrait of any of our adoptable animals that will go home with their future adopter.

BYOB!: Feel free to bring a drink or snacks to enjoy as you paint, we'll have limited options to drink for attendees. Don't forget to bring a friend to enjoy the food and fun with!

Meet the Models: Get to know the pets you’ll be painting! Before we begin, you’ll have the chance to meet and learn about the furry friends who will be featured in your artwork.

Introduce your child to the natural world and basics of scientific investigation through play with engaging, hands-on activities and games. Free Fun Days are a shortened version of our regular programs. Children will be introduced to the theme of the day (i.e. Flowers and seeds, The forest floor, Flipping rocks etc.), participate in fun, hands-on activities exploring that theme, and end with a short nature walk to solidify their learning.

Tim will lead participants on the fourth Saturday foraging hikes and cooking workshops around the Ozark Folkways Winslow property. As the seasons change so will the available plants and how they are prepared. These zero-waste events will cover plant ID, Harvest and Reseeding, and Food Preparation.
