Bryan Bowers, one of the best-known autoharp players in the world, will perform Tuesday night at the Ozark Mountain Smokehouse on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Fayetteville beginning at 7 p.m. He talked with Mike Shirkey, host of KUAF's The Pickin’ Post, about his instrument of choice.

Members of the group Gentlemen of a Certain Age recently stopped by the Firmin-Garner Performance Studio to perform during a live edition of the Pickin' Post on 91.3. The group includes Ed Nicholson, Ed Carr, Dennis Collins, Kelly Mullhollan, Tony Rupp, and Stan D'Aubin. The group also featured recent northwest Arkansas transplant Morgan Marvar. We hear some highlights from that live set.

In mid-June, we spent three hours at the Fayetteville Public Library celebrating a pair of long-running shows: KUAF’s The Pickin’ Post and Shades of Jazz. First in this sampler of that night's music, we hear singer and songwriter Steve Fischer and then a collection of jazz musicians from northwest Arkansas including Claudia Burson, Matt Beach, Ben Harris, Darren Novotny, Austin Farnam, Garrett Jones.

Judge David Newbern served on the Arkansas State Supreme Court for 14 years. He's been involved in music for a much longer period of time. He recently sat down with Mike Shirkey of The Pickin' Post to discuss law, music and history. We have an excerpt from the visit and Mike will play much more of the interview on The Pickin' Post Saturday night at 7:00 on 91.3.

Slaid Cleaves has developed a deserving fan base for his songs. He'll be in Fayetteville this weekend and talked with Mike Shirkey, from KUAF's Pickin' Post, this month.
