Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, we invite you to join us for our free Figure Drawing Sessions at Arts on Main in Van Buren. Bring your own drawing materials and we provide the model in the round, the lighting, easels and seating. We’ll have a series of short, warm up poses for gesture drawing followed by longer poses to give you opportunities to build more finished drawings.

Following each session, artists will have an opportunity to show and discuss their work with other students, but on a strictly voluntary basis.

Drawing directly from the model is a traditional tool for figurative artists in all media, but an increasingly rare opportunity in our screen-dominated world. This program will provide a relaxed, non-judgmental environment for independent drawing and creativity. We look forward to seeing you there!
