This 6-week "Intro to Handbuilding" course, led by ceramic artist Janira Rios-Campos at Mount Sequoyah Center, guides beginners through the foundations of pinch, coil, and slab techniques.
Emphasizing curiosity and mindful making, attendees will experience clear demonstrations, reflective discussions, and ample hands-on studio time to build confidence and develop personal creative expression. Participants receive up to 25 pounds of clay and access to studio glazes, culminating in a collection of functional or sculptural fired pieces to take home.
