Join Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation for our Community Baby Bird Shower on Sunday, March 29 from 12:00–4:00! Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation is a NWA based 501c3 organization dedicated to rehabilitating injured avian wildlife and promoting environmental conservation through community education. Come out and tour our rehabilitation clinic, enjoy family-friendly games and activities, a silent auction, grab snacks, and meet the team preparing for songbird season 2026.
This event is FREE to attend — and we urgently need donations from our Amazon or Walmart wishlists (or local bird supply store items) to help us prepare. Last year alone, we admitted over 632 birds — and we expect even more this year! Bring a gift that songbirds will love and help us get ready for our busiest season yet.
There will be a variety of educational stations, art activities, and cake for everyone! This event is perfect for nature lovers, birders, and anyone looking for a lighthearted weekend activity. We hope to see you there.
In this workshop we’ll explore the nuts and bolts of drawing fundamentals. We will cover line
making, construction of simple volumes, covering both freehand and mechanical methods.
From there we will apply it to a wide range of subjects including the human figure and nature.
Workshop starts with an overview, demos, art/sketchbook tours. Personal 1-on-1 instruction given throughout plus sketching outdoors to finish it off!
Supplies provided. Great for beginners! Limited spots (5-7)
Participants will make an elaborate Easter bonnet in time for holiday festivities--your imagination is the limit! Participants are asked to bring a hat that fits though some will be available. Hats will become ornate pieces of art, and Ozark Folkways volunteers will help you realize your potential. (Please don't bring a hat you aren't prepared to have fully transformed forever.) Workshop fee includes materials and supplies for decoration as well as assistance and encouragement!
"Finding Our Way | February 5 - April 26, 2026The moment of arrival—what we carry when we seek sanctuary, transitions, and the crossing into safety. Sandra Spotts, artist. Jay Lane, artist. Familiar images made from various materials and objects, found and recycled, placed in a format of controlled chaos, is at this point in my journey, the medium of choice for the“Finding Our Way” exhibit at Gotahold Brewing. I see society as satirical subject matter that exists in a surrealistic landscape of twisted perspective that is filled to the fences with social ironies. And yet, I still have to maintain my sense of humor about what has been and what will be with the activities du jour based on fear, war, greed, and hate. With this sense also comes my interpretations, expressed visually based on myexperiences, feelings, and health, from finding my way as an artist. I hope these pieces give you a sense of curiosity that you continue to carry with you while you are finding your way through all of this we humans call life."
Michelle Hastings Hannon is infamous for her slow stitch designs. She brings her supplies, you bring your article of clothing needing mended or reimagined. We sip on drinks, stitch, and enjoy the company of others doing the same.
