Immerse Yourself in the Serenity of Nature Discover the profound benefits of Shinrin-Yoku or Forest Bathing while exploring the tranquil grounds of Mount Sequoyah.
Forest Bathing is a Japanese practice which encourages you to open yourself to the calm and healing benefits of nature and the forest. Your Guide, Emmie Brenzel will walk you gently through invitations connecting you with the land and the natural world around you. Participants will be invited to move slowly, listen deeply, awaken their senses, and activate their imaginations. These reflective activities foster relaxation, self-awareness, and healing of the body and mind. Indoor and outdoor options will be available to accommodate weather and mobility issues. The practice closes with a ceremonial tea celebration. Walks will be limited to fourteen participants.
How to Prepare for a Forest Bathing Adventure

2. Pack a portable chair for seating if you prefer not to get up and down off the ground.

The Annual Alliance Friendraiser – River Rally will be held on Thursday, September 25th, from 6:00 – 8:30 pm along the White River at Bunch Park in Elkins, AR! Join us for a night of celebrating source water protection through music, food, networking with conservation partners, recognizing watershed champions, a silent auction and raffle, and more!
This is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of the people, partnerships, and projects protecting Beaver Lake, the source of drinking water for over 1 in 5 Arkansans. Beaver Lake not only supplies clean drinking water, it powers industries, fuels regional growth, and contributes over $101 million in visitor spending to Northwest Arkansas each year. Managing the lands and waterways that drain into the lake — spanning portions of Benton, Carroll, Washington, and Madison counties — takes vision, collaboration, and resources. These efforts keep local lands healthy, fisheries thriving, and waterways resilient for the next generation.
The Friendraiser – River Rally is our chance to come together, recognize these achievements, and inspire more action for clean water and thriving communities. Whether you’re a landowner, partner, or simply passionate about the outdoors, you’re invited to join the celebration!

The Southern Italian port city of Naples is home to a rich and complex history stretching back to its foundation by Greek colonists in the 8th century B.C.E. Across the centuries, Naples evolved into a vibrant cultural, political and economic center of the Mediterranean world, first as a part of Magna Gracia, and later, under successive periods of Roman, Byzantine, Norman, Angevin, and Spanish rule, on route to becoming the capital of the independent Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1816. In 1861, Naples’s incorporation into the newly unified Italian nation-state as a part of the Risorgimento initiated an era of modernization and adaptation that persists to the present day. In this six-week class, we will examine la storia e tradizioni of bella Napoli—a city famously pieno di contradizione (“full of contradictions”). Aimed at students and travelers alike, the course offers a virtual “grand tour” of Naples through a close examination of a dozen Neapolitan monuments/ historic sites reflective of milestones in the city’s historical development from its origins through today, including: Castel dell’ Ovo, Spaccanapoli, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II , Castel Nuovo, the Duomo, Santa Chiara, i musei Capodimonte e Archeologico Nazionale, Palazzo Reale, Teatro San Carlo, and the Galleria Umberto I among others (including “side visits” to the city’s best pizzerias, food stalls, pastry shops and cafes!)
