Celebrate National Music Week! Andante Music Club of Bella Vista invites the public to a free concert, May 7, 6:30 p.m., at Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, 504 Memorial Dr. Bella Vista. Bella Vista Mayor Flynn will read and present a Proclamation of National Music Week to the Andante Music Club and MAPS. Music by two Arkansas composers will be played. Young musicians, a U of A student, and adult musicians will perform a variety of music on instruments and by voice.National Music Week is in its 101st year and sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs, along with its local affiliates. It recognizes the importance of music in the life of our nation and invites all “friends of music” to participate in this great week of celebration, May 5-12, 2024

Southern Strings will present a free music program May 10 at The Plaza, Bella Vista AR at 4:00 p.m. Southern Strings is a unique group of musicians playing mountain dulcimers, hammered dulcimer, harps, psalteries, violins, acoustic guitar, and banjo. They play gospel, folk, traditional and mountain music in which the audience can sing along. National Music Week is in its 101st year and sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs along with its local affiliates, Andante Music Club of Bella Vista and MAPS - NWA Music, Art, and Poetry Students. It recognizes the importance of music in the life of our nation and invites all “friends of music” to participate in this great week of celebration.

Celebrate National Music Week with free music activities at Loch Lomond Dam Pavilion at 59 Glasgow Rd in Bella Vista, AR, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. Event highlights are singing “God Bless America” by Irving Berlin, and listening to “The Entertainer” by Scott Joplin played on saxophone and digital piano. Lisa Ferguson will play folk music on hammered dulcimer. A poem, written by a resident poet, celebrating the National Music Week theme “Music…Yours, Mine and Ours” will be read. Enjoy guitar music to drum therapy music all at one venue. National Music Week is in its 101st year and sponsored by National Federation of Music Clubs and its local affiliates, MAPS - NWA Music, Art, Poetry Students and the Andante Music Club of Bella Vista. Santino Tomasetti is a singer-songwriter originally from Pittsburgh, PA. For the last 13 years, he’s been traveling the world in films, theatre, and with his own music. While living in New York and Los Angeles to train and pursue performing, Santino released two records with the band TT and The Racers. In 2022, he released his first solo album “Long Time Coming,” and has since been touring all 7 continents alongside Broadway stars, Grammy nominated musicians, and hall of fame songwriters.
