Familiar images made from various materials and objects, found and recycled, placed in a format of controlled chaos, is at this point in my journey, the medium of choice for the
“Finding Our Way” exhibit at Gotahold Brewing. I see society as satirical subject matter that exists in a surrealistic landscape of twisted perspective that is filled to the fences with social ironies. And yet, I still have to maintain my sense of humor about what has been and what will be with the activities du jour based on fear, war, greed, and hate. With this sense also comes my interpretations, expressed visually based on my
experiences, feelings, and health, from finding my way as an artist. I hope these pieces give you a sense of curiosity that you continue to carry with you while you are finding your way through all of this we humans call life."

Arts Live Theatre is jumping into SPRING, offering a wide variety of after-school theatre classes available for ages 4-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 12-18 years of age. Fun-filled class themes include Wizarding Mysteries, Toy Story Toybox, Auditioning for Stage and Film, 101 Dalmatians on a Mission, Zootopia On the Case, Dog Man Investigations and MORE! Irish Slow Session is for those who would like to learn Irish tunes and songs. The hour before each Irish Session we’ll learn a few new tunes and tips on how to jam in the Irish Sessions.
Every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Check the Folk School calendar for more information.

RD holds secular, science-based addiction recovery support groups every Monday. We are LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent led/friendly. Harm reduction approaches welcomed. Sober curious folks are welcomed. Anyone questioning their relationship to substances is welcomed. No student observers, please.

Using principles learned from the Fundamentals, Figure/Head, and Painting classes, we’ll apply our knowledge and skills to Great Master artworks. We’ll learn watercolor basics (wet on wet,wet on dry, color mixing). Each week we’ll look at various artists such as Rubens, Rembrandt, Winslow Homer and more. From each, we’ll cover the human figure, landscapes, and abstracts.

Course Outline

Week 1: Overview/ Review, Wet on Wet, Wet on Dry/Damp, Water Control Brushes, Strokes Pencils, paint, ink

Week 2: Simple Volumes, Visualizing simple masses Value

Week 3: Monochrome, Using Black and Earth-tones, Rubens and Rembrandt

Week 4: Warm and Cools

Week 5: Color, Working with Primaries, Color Mixing, Winslow Homer scenes, Georgia O’ Keefe abstracts, Sargent

Week 6: Long-Form Master Study, Applying our skills to a single study

When school is out, Crystal Bridges programming is in! Join us for Spring Break Camps centered on our collection and special exhibitions from 9 am – 12 pm.

Join us for a week of culinary creativity where food meets art! In this hands-on camp, young chefs led by Lunch Bunch will explore flavors, techniques, and artistic inspiration drawn from art in our collection. Each day features a delicious dish paired with an art connection, blending taste and imagination.

Tuesday: Cucumbers 3 Ways

Wednesday: Oven-Less Pizzas

Thursday: Horchata with Pico & Guacamole

Friday: Hotteok & Banana Milk

Campers will learn basic cooking skills, explore cultural connections, and meet new friends. No prior experience needed—just a love for food and fun!

It’s time for a spring break adventure! Explore all eight of the libraries of Washington County and collect stamps in your library passport. Check out activities going on at the libraries.

Participating Libraries: Elkins, Farmington, Greenland, Lincoln, Prairie Grove, Springdale, West Fork, & Winslow

Who: Any school age kids and younger and/or families

Start Date: Pick up passports anytime on or after March 16th

End Date: Turn in passports anytime before or on April 4th

Times: Please check the hours of the libraries you are visiting.

How it works: Pick up a passport with QR code map links to the different libraries along with their Spring Break Schedules at a Washington County Library. Go to each library to collect a stamp. You may be given a special task to earn your stamp.

What happens when all the stamps are collected: Get your completion stamp and pick up a prize!

The Machine Behind the Art: Inside JR’s Printing Press is one of JR’s most extensive immersive and experiential works to date. After taking portraits in one of three individual photo booths, visitors enter the interior of an oversized, whirring printing press – turning their image into a tangible work of art while offering a glimpse into the creative process of JR. After the experience, visitors leave with their own, one-of-a-kind print.

Member Perk: Momentary members receive two free prints per visit. Just reserve your timed ticket online or with the Box Office, and your discount will be applied at checkout!

Timed portrait tickets are $20 (Free for members), reserve your timeslot online or with the Box Office at (479) 657-2335.
Timed portrait tickets include one oversized photo portrait and admission for up to three people. Digital copies of your photo will be available after your visit.
If you do not plan on taking a portrait during your visit, no purchase is required to attend The Machine Behind the Art: Inside JR’s Printing Press.
