Mike Shirkey
Host of The Pickin' PostMike Shirkey has been host and producer of The Pickin' Post since 1980. He's had many musical influences from his childhood in the Arkansas Delta to his one-year tour of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. Shirkey received his bachelor of art degree from the University of Arkansas. In years to follow, Mike started the successful GoodFolk Productions, bringing national and international musicians to Northwest Arkansas. In 2011, he received the Folk Life Award from the Arkansas Arts Council.
