For the first time, the University of Arkansas Department of History is offering a course on LGBTQ-plus history as part of the department’s gender studies program. The course is being taught by Ren Pepitone, Assistant Professor of History.

The LGBTQ+ organization, Harrison Pride, is holding a diversity convention Friday and Saturday at various venues in Harrison.

The Queer Housing Alliance Project is a nonprofit resource collaborative that looks at the full spectrum of housing needs for queer-indentifying people in their lifetimes. The goal of the initiative, which was launched in June, is to create an online resource for the local queer community. 

The documentary In Her Words: 20th Century Lesbian Fiction explores how key authors and their works impacted the genre and society. A screening of the work-in-progress will be held June 14 at 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville.

The inaugural Pride Ride was held in Bentonville Sunday ahead of a Beer & Hymns concert at 8th Street Market to raise money for Pride at NWACC. Ride organizers say they would like to see more Pride events in Bentonville and other Northwest Arkansas cities in conjunction with Pride Weekend festivities held in Fayetteville.
