The nonprofit Music Moves operates with the idea music can be a gateway to education and history and that music can be entertaining. They’re combining those on Thursday for the Good News and Blues fundraiser. Music Moves officials came to the Carver Center for Public Radio to discuss how the fundraiser has fun to further the group’s educational mission.

Arkansas is ranked seventh out of the 50 states with citizens that are most likely to go hungry. One in six people face hunger in Arkansas, one in five of those being children. That totals to about 470,000 people facing hunger in the state every day, according to Feeding America. The nonprofit organization MayDay NWA is coming together to help feed and create community for those who face hunger in Fayetteville.

At least 3.4 million Americans live with epilepsy, the fourth most common neurological disorder in the world. Work to better understand, diagnose and treat epilepsy is advancing as awareness about epilepsy grows. Raising awareness is one of the goals of Saturday’s “Walk to end Epilepsy Northwest Arkansas” at Agri Park in Fayetteville.
